Measurement of Spectral Anisotropy using SingleSpacecraft

چکیده
A technique for analyzing multiple-time, single-point datasets is presented, which yields information about the (spectral) variation of MHD elds in directions perpendicular to the mean ow. The analysis can be performed for any homogeneous solenoidal elds, including magnetic and incompressible velocity uctuations. A summary of the associated theory is given, along with initial results obtained using an interval of Voyager data.

Spatial detection of ferromagnetic wires using GMR sensor and based on shape induced anisotropy
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new technique for row spacing measurement in a wire array using giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensor. The self-rectifying property of the GMR-based probes leads to accurately detection of the magnetic field fluctuations caused by surface-breaking cracks in conductive materials, shape-induced magnetic anisotropy, etc. The ability to manufacture probes h...
متن کاملMapping the Cmb I: the First Flight of the Qmap Experiment
We report on the first flight of the balloon-borne QMAP experiment. The experiment is designed to make a map of the cosmic microwave background anisotropy on angular scales from 0. ◦70 to several degrees. Using the map we determine the angular power spectrum of the anisotropy in multipole bands from l ∼ 40 to l ∼ 140. The results are consistent with the Saskatoon (SK) measurements. The frequenc...
متن کاملA Measurement of the Medium-Scale Anisotropy in the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation
Observations from the first flight of the Medium Scale Anisotropy Measurement (MSAM) are analyzed to place limits on Gaussian fluctuations in the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation (CMBR). This instrument chops a 30 beam in a 3 position pattern with a throw of ±40; the resulting data is analyzed in statistically independent single and double difference datasets. We observe in four spectral c...
متن کاملNon-perturbative determination of anisotropy coefficients in lattice gauge theories
We propose a new non-perturbative method to compute derivatives of gauge coupling constants with respect to anisotropic lattice spacings (anisotropy coefficients), which are required in an evaluation of thermodynamic quantities from numerical simulations on the lattice. Our method is based on a precise measurement of the finite temperature deconfining transition curve in the lattice coupling pa...
متن کاملIntrinsic Raman spectroscopy for quantitative biological spectroscopy part I: theory and simulations.
We present a novel technique, intrinsic Raman spectroscopy (IRS), to correct turbidity-induced Raman spectral distortions, resulting in the intrinsic Raman spectrum that would be observed in the absence of scattering and absorption. We develop an expression relating the observed and intrinsic Raman spectra through diffuse reflectance using the photon migration depiction of light transport. Nume...
